What we do
X-AVTO is an extreme and defensive driving school based in Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk, Russia (the Urals). We have been working since 2010. Since 2014 we have been running comparative tire tests on ice, snow, wet and dry asphalt for tire manufacturers, tire chains and automotive media.

Winter and summer
Winter: braking and acceleration on ice and snow, handling, ice circle. Summer: braking and handling on wet and dry asphalt, including watered tracks.
When the ice is ready
On our proving ground near Yekaterinburg the field ice is ready by November 10 in half of the seasons and by November 18 in 4 seasons out of 5 (based on 31 seasons of weather data, 1995–2025). For comparison: in Heihe (China) the ice comes earlier, but more than a third of days there are colder than −20 °C. The exact start date is confirmed by the forecast.
Grounds
Own proving grounds in the Urals (ice, snow, 140×40 m watered asphalt), partner race tracks in Chelyabinsk and near Magnitogorsk, and airfields for long straights. We also come to your own proving ground.
Team and data
Our test drivers are active racing drivers and school instructors. Measurements: GPS telemetry (RaceLine, upgraded for testing; GPS + GLONASS + BeiDou, 25 Hz), weather station, pyrometer, ice and snow measurements, cameras and radios. Data processing: repeated runs for every tire set, a reference set during the series, and a final report with tables, charts and raw records.
We work under NDA: brands and results are never published without the customer's consent.
